OUR INSTRUCTOR

Mr. J. Sharriff Geter

​

Founder, School Director and NYS Credentialed Instructor,

Mr. Geter has over 44 years of security and over 20 years of law enforcement experience. As a veteran police officer, he was promoted to Senior Field Training Officer (FTO). His responsibilities included training probationary officers coming out of the academy and making sure that they were ready for the field. His last detail was responding to September 11th, 2001 transporting manpower and securing many tactical positions. He also was assigned to supervise the Makeshift Morgue at 26th/27th Street and 1st Ave, where he oversaw search and recovery for dangerous weapons.

 

Mr. Geter has been employed as executive protection for numerous high-profile clients.  He has worked retail, commercial, residential and entertainment both as an armed and unarmed security officer. He also served as a clinical counselor for the Queens Supreme Court under the Treatment Alternative to Street Crime (TASC) and the Queens Village Committee for Mental Health-JCAP combating addiction, felonious recidivism and mental health issues. Here Mr. Geter was assigned the largest caseload of court mandated and voluntary individuals.

 

Mr. Geter received his education from Medgar Evers College for Urban Studies/Liberal Arts, studied Security Management at Pace University and Criminal Justice at John Jay School for Criminal Justice and continues to study, learn and grow academically.

S&S Security Training and Services, LLC is dedicated to training individuals to be security professionals in the fields of commercial, residential, retail and entertainment industry. “We empower by building confidence and discipline, in a no-nonsense environment that fosters the joy of learning.”  We seek to uplift the community by providing leadership and engaging in cooperative ongoing relationships.

THE VISION

S&S Security Training and Services, LLC is a NY State Division of Criminal Justice Services Security Guard Program Approved School that imparts the knowledge and life skills necessary prepare you for a career in security. A field that is always in demand, in any market or economy.  Whatever community you live in there is always a demand for security professionals.

GOALS AND OBJECTIVES

We see our training school as an opportunity to help people to improve their circumstances. We want them to see that they can earn a good living in a meaningful way by making their community feel safe and secure.  We also recognize this profession as a great way to supplement a first job, with its 24 hour demand and extensive fields, as well as fitting well with college students’ schedules who need to work around school commitments

At First-Rate Security, Inc. we very much depend on having professionally trained security guards on our staff. Our clients demand the best and it is our responsibility to provide them with nothing but the best security guards.  That is why we have a corporate policy to recommend all of our security personnel and anyone else in need of any security training to attend S&S Security Training & Services.  Furthermore, when we are in need of additional security guards, we hire solely from S&S Security Training & Services.
